Hong Kong Flower Show 2026: A Fragrant Journey through Hong Kong

Hong Kong's roads and railways are intricately intertwined, weaving the pulse of the city and shortening the distance between people, thus giving the urban rhythm a vivid sense of life. Over the past 40 years since its establishment, the Highways Department (HyD) has been driving the diverse road and railway infrastructure development, not only bringing more convenience to the public's daily life but also shaping Hong Kong's unique cityscape.

The exhibition, themed "Journey Through the Past 40 Years", creates a dynamic spatial experience through interactive projections and digital visuals, giving a retrospect of the HyD's key achievements since its establishment. As visitors enter through an archway symbolising a time tunnel, they embark on a journey across past and future. The design draws inspiration from the fluidity and circulation of highways and roundabouts, with forty feature columns representing the Department's 40-year timeline. The central propeller sculpture is a sign of innovation and upward progress that symbolise the Department's use of technology to enhance safety, efficiency, and sustainability, demonstrating the HyD's commitment to urban connectivity and high-quality services. Our display booth was honoured to receive the Grand Award for Unique Feature (Landscape Display) under the category of Displays Section (Local).

Following the conclusion of the flower show, the Highways Department distributed some of the plants to the public through Civil Engineering and Development Department. This ensured that the flowers could continue to bloom beyond the event, promoting community greening and environmental sustainability.
