Description

The works mainly comprise:

  1. demolition and conversion of sections of the existing slopes adjacent to Lai King Hill Road into footpath, covered footpath and lift tower with two lifts;
  2. permanent closure and conversion of a section of the existing footpath at Lai King Hill Road into covered footpath;
  3. construction of elevated covered pedestrian walkway connecting the lift tower in (a) and the existing footbridge no. NF113;
  4. construction of elevated covered pedestrian walkway connecting the lift tower in (a) and Lai Cho Road; and
  5. ancillary works including electrical and mechanical, geotechnical, landscaping, drainage and sewerage works, as well as construction of platform for emergency opening to the lift tower in (a) and retaining walls.

The works are scheduled to commence in the third quarter of 2026 and will take about 30 months to complete.

Submission of Tenders

A tenderer must submit its tender in electronic format via the Electronic Tendering System for works contracts ("e-TS(WC)"). Late submission will not be accepted.

In addition to the electronic submission, a tenderer may opt to submit its tender in hard copy as well. Submission in hard copy is optional and it will not be used unless falling within the exceptions stated in the conditions of tender. If a tenderer opts to submit a hard copy tender in addition to electronic submission, the tenders must be sealed, clearly marked with the tender reference and the subject of the tender on the outside of the envelope (but should not bear any indication which may relate the tender to the tenderer) addressed to the Chairman, Public Works Tender Board and placed in Public Works Tender Box situated at Room 503, 5/F., Low Block, Queensway Government Offices, 66 Queensway, Hong Kong. Tenders must be deposited in the tender box as specified in this tender notice ("Specified Tender Box") before the tender closing time. Late tenders and tenders not deposited in the Specified Tender Box will not be accepted.

The tender closing date may be extended under the following circumstances:-

  1. If tropical cyclone signal No. 8 or above, or a black rainstorm warning signal is hoisted or if "extreme conditions after super typhoons" announced by the Government is in force at any time between 9 am and 12 noon on the tender closing date, the tender closing time will be extended to 12 noon on the first working day after the tropical cyclone signal No. 8 is lowered, or the black rainstorm warning signal or the "extreme conditions after super typhoons" announced by the Government has/have ceased to be in force. Saturday is not counted as a working day. The announcements on "extreme conditions after super typhoons" will be made via press releases website of the Information Services Department (https://www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/today.htm);
  2. If there is a blockage of the public access to the location of the Specified Tender Box at any time between 9 am and 12 noon on the tender closing date, the Government will announce extension of the tender closing date and time until further notice. Following removal of the blockage, the Government will announce the extended tender closing date and time as soon as practicable. The announcements will be made via press releases website of the Information Services Department (https://www.info.gov.hk/gia/general/today.htm); or
  3. If there is any other reason which in the Government's view shall affect the close of tender, the Government will notify tenderers of the extension in tender closing date and time via the e-TS(WC) and/or emails.
