Hong Kong Flower Show 2024: Enchanted Journey - Joyful Inheritance

To match with this year's theme "Floral Joy Around Town", the design of the Highways Department's booth made use of the elements of "wood" and "birds", together with colourful lines interweaving the road network, to introduce to the visitors the "Succeed Sustain Slopescape – Phased Replacement of Senescent Acacia" and the "Thematic Design of Highway Structures" projects of the department. As visitors travelled through the tunnels and roads with blossoming flowers, they experienced the vibrancy infused into the streets of Hong Kong by the two projects, explored the road facilities and infrastructure projects which were closely related to their daily living, as well as enjoyed the fun of travelling through the road network and the convenience brought about by it. On the plant design of the booth, this year's theme flower Angelonia spp., was complemented by other vibrant flowers such as Delphinium, Foxgloves, and Azalea, creating a charming and colorful floral landscape.

The design concept of the booth was to bring joy and a sense of delight to the visitors, evoking heartfelt smiles. As observed on-site, in addition to the theme flowers, the Guangzhou Cherry, Pom Pom Mum, and succulent plants chosen by us, with their adorable appearances, attracted many people to take photos, while wooden horses made of recycled wood also became a spotlight attracting the children. The Highways Department is also honored to have received the Grand Award for Design Excellence under the category of Local Outdoor Landscape Display in this show.
