Provision of Cover to Walkway To enhance the walking environment, the Government invited District Councils to nominate sections of public walkways suitable for the provision of covers and the Highways Department carried out the feasibility study, design and construction of selected proposals.
The initiative for the provision of walkway covers was extended to pedestrian connections to public hospitals in 2019. The Highways Department will carry out the design and construction of those proposed walkway covers to improve the pedestrian accessibility to various public hospitals.
