Project Description:

The proposed "Lift and Pedestrian Walkway System between Lau Sin Street and Tin Hau Temple Road" is a "Hillside Escalator Link and Elevator System". The Project aims to provide a convenient and comfortable pedestrian link between Tin Hau Temple Road and MTR Tin Hau Station as well as the public transport interchange at King's Road, and to serve as a safe and barrier-free access for the elderly and the disabled.

Contract Title Construction of walkway covers near Princess Margaret Hospital, Tung Wah Eastern Hospital, Castle Peak Hospital and Siu Lam Hospital, Wah Sing Street Escalator Link System and Lift and Pesdestrian Walkway System between Lau Sin Street and Tin Hau Temple Road
Scope
  1. Construction of a walkway cover about 180 meters in length along Lai King Hill Road connecting Princess Margaret Hospital and the adjacent bus stops / mini-bus stops;
  2. Construction of a walkway cover about 230 meters in length along Tsing Chung Koon Road and Chung Ling Path connecting Castle Peak Hospital & Siu Lam Hospital and Light Rail Transit Ching Chung Station;
  3. Construction of a walkway cover about 80 meters in length along Eastern Hospital Road connecting Tung Wah Eastern Hospital and the adjacent bus stops;
  4. Construction of a covered escalator link system of about 40 meters long between Wah Sing Street and Castle Peak Road (Kwai Chung);
  5. Construction of a lift tower with single lift of about 14 meters in height at Lau Sin Street;
  6. Construction of an elevated covered walkway with a width of about 2 meters and of about 8m in length, connecting the lift tower mentioned in (v) above and the footpath along Tin Hau Temple Street; and
  7. Associated roads and drainage, geotechnical, utilities diversion, lighting, landscaping, electrical and mechanical works, etc.
