Tenders invited for "Provision of Universal Accessibility Facilities at Footbridges, Elevated Walkways and Subways - Package 7 Contract 2"

      The Highways Department (HyD) today (October 28) invited tenders for Provision of Universal Accessibility Facilities at Footbridges, Elevated Walkways and Subways - Package 7 Contract 2 (Contract No. HY/2022/12).
      
      The works are scheduled to commence in April 2023 and will take about 39 months to complete. The works mainly include:
      
  1. design and construction of 46 lifts at 30 walkways located in Central and Western District, Kowloon City, Kwai Tsing, Kwun Tong, Wong Tai Sin, Sai Kung, Southern District and Yau Tsim Mong;
  2. design and construction of a walkway cover of about 100 metres long connecting United Christian Hospital at a footpath of Sau Mau Ping Road westbound;
  3. design and construction of a covered elevated walkway of about 50 metres long connecting a proposed lift tower for the existing footbridge (Structure No. KT06) to Sau Ming Road Park; and
  4. associated civil works, geotechnical works, electrical and mechanical works, modification works for the existing walkways, roads and drainage works, lighting works and landscaping works.
      
      The HyD has appointed WSP (Asia) Limited (WSP) as the consultant to supervise the construction works. Interested contractors can download the tender forms and other particulars from the e-Tendering System.
      
      The invitation to tender was gazetted today. Submission of tenders will close at noon on January 20, 2023 (Friday). Tenderers must submit completed tenders in both soft and hard copies. The soft copy of the completed tenders must be submitted via the e-Tendering System, and the hard copy must be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box located at the lobby of the Public Entrance on the Ground Floor, East Wing, Central Government Offices, 2 Tim Mei Avenue, Tamar, Hong Kong.
