HyD's response to media enquiries on seawall of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Main Bridge artificial island

     Regarding media enquiries on news reports about the seawall of an artificial island of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB) Main Bridge, the Highways Department (HyD) today (April 4) responded as follows:

     Regarding yesterday's (April 3) media reports and enquiries on the seawall displacement of the artificial island of the HZMB Main Bridge, the HyD immediately followed up with the HZMB Authority which is responsible for the implementation of the works of the Main Bridge. The HZMB Authority issued a press statement this afternoon providing a detailed response (Chinese only) (www.hzmb.org/cn/bencandy.asp?id=3677).

     The HyD will continue to communicate with the HZMB Authority and monitor the works of the Main Bridge with a view to ensuring that its quality meets the relevant requirements.
