Vegetation Maintenance

Vegetation Maintenance - The Highways Department (HyD) maintains vegetation on HyD's slopes and within the expressway boundary. We nurture vegetation to stabilise slopes, establish green backdrop to the highway network, and enhance the local ecological habitats in the urban area. Moreover, we carry out tree risk assessment and take appropriate measures to mitigate the risk while preserving our trees as far as practicable.

We are implementing the "SUCCEED•SUSTAIN SLOPESCAPE: Enhancement Programme of Vegetated Slopes of HyD (Phased Replacement of Senescent Acacia)" to gradually replace our senescent Acacia trees to safeguard the safety of road users, enrich biodiversity and promote long-term sustainability.
