Tseung Kwan O Line

Tseung
Kwan O Line connects Po Lam at Tseung Kwan O with North Point on
Hong Kong Island. It comprises the Quarry Bay Congestion Relief Scheme
opened in September 2001, and the Tseung Kwan O Extension opened in August
2002. The former provides a new connection between Quarry Bay and North
Point whereas the latter extends the railway to serve the Tseung Kwan O New
Town. Tseung Kwan O Line is 10.7 km long between the 2 terminal stations
at North Point and Po Lam with 5 intermediate stations; namely Quarry Bay,
Yau Tong, Tiu Keng Leng, Tseung Kwan O and Hang Hau. North Point and Quarry
Bay are the interchange stations with Island Line. Yau Tong and Tiu Keng
Leng are the interchange stations with Kwun Tong Line.
In 2007, Kwun Tong Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line, Tung Chung Line,
Airport Express Line, Tseung Kwan O Line and Disneyland Resort Line carried
average daily passengers of about 2,560,000.
The newly constructed LOHAS Park Station is situated in Tseung Kwan O Area 86 adjacent to the existing Tseung Kwan O Depot. The construction works for the station commenced in 2006 and completed in 2009. The LOHAS Park Station officially opened for passenger services on 26 July 2009. The Tseung Kwan O Line train service bifurcates at Tseung Kwan O Station with trains running south to LOHAS Park Station, as well as north to Po Lam Station via Hang Hau Station. |
