Kwun Tong Line

Kwun Tong Line started operation in late 1979. Kwun Tong
Line was extended through the Eastern Harbour Crossing connecting to Quarry
Bay on Hong Kong Island in 1989 and then further extended to North Point
in 2001. In August 2002, Kwun Tong Line was diverted to end in Tiu Keng Leng.
Today, Kwun Tong Line is 15.8 km long between the 2 terminal stations at
Yau Ma Tei and Tiu Keng Leng with 13 intermediate stations; namely Mong Kok,
Prince Edward, Shek Kip Mei, Kowloon Tong, Lok Fu, Wong Tai Sin, Diamond
Hill, Choi Hung, Kowloon Bay, Ngau Tau Kok, Kwun Tong, Lam Tin and Yau Tong.
Mong Kok and Prince Edward are the interchange stations with Tsuen Wan Line.
Kowloon Tong is the interchange station with East Rail Line. Yau Tong and
Tiu Keng Leng are the interchange stations with Tseung Kwan O Line.
In 2007, Kwun Tong Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island
Line, Tung Chung Line, Airport Express Line, Tseung Kwan O Line and Disneyland
Resort Line carried average daily passengers of about 2,560,000. |
