Island Line

Island Line

Island Line along the northern shore of Hong Kong Island was first opened in 1985. Island Line is 13.3 km long between the 2 terminal stations at Sheung Wan and Chai Wan with 12 intermediate stations; namely Central, Admiralty, Wan Chai, Causeway Bay, Tin Hau, Fortress Hill, North Point, Quarry Bay, Tai Koo, Sai Wan Ho, Shau Kei Wan and Heng Fa Chuen. Central is the interchange station with Tsuen Wan Line, and also interchanges with Hong Kong Station on Tung Chung Line and Airport Express Line. Admiralty is the interchange station with Tsuen Wan Line. North Point and Quarry Bay are the interchange stations with Tseung Kwan O Line.

In 2010, Kwun Tong Line, Tsuen Wan Line, Island Line, Tung Chung Line, Disneyland Resort Line, Tseung Kwan O Line, East Rail Line, West Rail Line, Ma On Shan Line and Airport Express Line carried average daily passengers of about 3,860,000.
