Project Objective :
The objective of the project is to improve the traffic conditions of the Tuen Mun Road Town Centre Section (TMRTCS) to relieve congestion and to meet the anticipated traffic growth.
Description :
- Widening of the TMRTCS between Yan Oi Town Square and Wong Chu Road of approximately 1.5 km long from a dual 2-lane carriageway to a dual 3-lane carriageway;
- Resurfacing of existing section of TMR;
- Construction of a single-lane flyover of approximately 450 m long, which extends from Tuen Hing Road and runs along Tsing Hoi Circuit to merge eventually with the TMR Kowloon-bound carriageway;
- Reconstruction of four existing footbridges;
- Construction of noise barriers and enclosures;
- Improvement of three existing traffic signal controlled junctions along Castle Peak Road between Tuen Hing Road and Hoi Wing Road; and
- Associated civil, structural, landscaping, geotechnical works, and works on reprovisioning of existing facilities, environmental mitigation, drainage, road lighting, water mains and traffic aids.
