Contract No. HY/2007/10 - Reconstruction and Improvement of Tuen Mun Road – Tai Lam Section

The Contract ”Reconstruction and Improvement of Tuen Mun Road – Tai Lam Section” comprises 4km dual 3-lane carriageway from Siu Lam to Tsing Lung Tau

The scope of the contract mainly includes:

1. reconstruction and re-alignment of Tuen Mun Road between Siu Lam and Tsing Lung Tau to current expressway standard;
2. widening of traffic lanes to expressway standard width and provision of hard shoulders and verges along Tuen Mun Road;
3. widening of highways structures including vehicular bridges, box culverts and subways;
4. modification of the existing seawall;
5. improvement of the merging / diverging arrangement at Siu Lam Interchange;
6. replacement of the existing road restraint system with new types of parapets and roadside barriers;
7. reconstruction of road pavements;
8. installation of noise barrier;
9. ancillary works including slope, drainage, landscaping, utility works; installation of traffic control and surveillance and fire fighting systems; modification of directional signs to current expressway standard; and provision of catchwater decking and natural terrain hazard mitigation measures.
