East Tsing Yi Viaduct is part of the Route 8 (formerly
Route 9) between Tsing Yi and Cheung Sha Wan project.
It links up Nam Wan Tunnel and Stonecutters Bridge,
both are under construction. The Contract works comprises
the following major elements:
the construction of
a dual 3 –lane viaduct of about 1.1 km long
with hard shoulder in Tsing Yi Island linking Stonecutters
Bridge and Nam Wan Tunnel;
the construction of
viaduct ramps linking the mainline and the road
networks within the vicinity of Container Terminal
No. 9.;
and
the associated roads, drainage,
environmental mitigation
measures slope works etc.
