The widening works for the highway section between Lam Tei and Tan Kwai Tsuen are designed and constructed under the Deep Bay Link project.

The widening works for the highway section between Tan Kwai Tsuen and Shap Pat Heung Interchange are constructed under Contract No. HY/2002/19. The details of the works are as follows:

Description :

The project includes :-

(a) widening of a section of Yuen Long Highway of about 7 km between Lam Tei and Shap Pat Heung Interchange from dual-2 lane to dual-3 lane;

(b) modification of existing interchanges and link roads;

(c) modification of existing bridges, subways and box culverts;

(d) erection of noise barriers and low noise road surfacing; and

(e) associated drainage, lighting, retaining walls, slope works and landscape works.
