West Kowloon Highway

This expressway forms a section of the Route 3 North-South link and was built on the West Kowloon Reclamation. It runs from the Western Harbour Crossing toll plaza to Lai Chi Kok, and has a major interchange at Yau Ma Tei and another at Mei Foo. These provide connections to the district distributor road system. Nearly two kilometres of the expressway is elevated, and a section of the Airport Railway will run below it.

In addition to forming part of Route 3 and providing access to the new airport, the expressway significantly improves traffic flow in West Kowloon by reducing existing traffic levels in local streets, and cater for future developments on the new reclamation.

The expressway was opened to traffic in February 1997.
